Veteran Jobs Mission Meets in Chicago

On September 19, the Veteran Jobs Mission convened in Chicago to host its third event in a series of regional receptions. The receptions are intended to connect employee resource group leads and strengthen the foundation for further VJM member collaboration. The evening event was held at Cindy’s rooftop and hosted veteran affairs experts from regional industry leaders, such as La Quinta, PepsiCo, Walgreens and MillerCoors. JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s head of Military and Veteran Affairs team spoke to fellow VJM members on continuing to increase focus on retention and career development of veterans in the private sector. This includes supporting veterans as they adapt to the workplace by establishing sponsorship and on-boarding training programs, as well as industry-based coalition subgroups to increase collaboration among members.
